VietAbroader NYC Career Conference

April 2, 2010

VietAbroader, in conjunction with New York University School of Law’s Asia Law Society, will organize the VietAbroader Career Conference (“VACC”) to provide a venue for companies and organizations operating in Vietnam to discuss career opportunities with students and young professionals in the U.S. The conference will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 24-25, 2010 at New York University School of Law. VACC responds to two prevailing trends. First, the growing presence of international companies in Vietnam and the expansion of domestic enterprises are creating greater demand for a dynamic and skilled labor force. Second, an increasing number of overseas Vietnamese, Vietnamese Americans and foreigners are interested in exploring career opportunities in a rapidly developing Vietnam. In 2009, Vietnam’s economy managed to grow 5.3% amid the global financial and economic turmoil. Looking forward, Vietnam has among the most attractive prospects in the world, taking the spotlight from its Asian neighbors as a preeminent growth frontier. VACC marks the first offshore project implemented by VietAbroader, and is the first career conference organized in the U.S. focusing on a wide range of opportunities in Vietnam. VACC is a two-day event featuring keynote speeches from premier companies, interactive panel discussions with industry experts, on-site interviews, and ample networking opportunities. The conference will represent employers in the finance, law, information technology, and other industries. VietAbroader will conduct a rigorous screening process to select participants with a strong interest in working in Vietnam, relevant work experience, and outstanding academic background. VietAbroader’s mission is to support Vietnamese students to pursue education overseas and attract talent to Vietnam. Since its inception in 2004, VietAbroader has been highly successful in organizing study abroad conferences for Vietnamese students and facilitating dialogues between local businesses and Vietnamese young professionals. The Asia Law Society at New York University School of Law is a student-run organization devoted to serving law students with a career interest in Asia. For more information, please visit
